Michael R. Puhl

Michael R. Puhl is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a member of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists and a certified mediator. Michael has also been honored as a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly magazine. A 1982 graduate of the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, he is licensed to practice law in Texas, Illinois and before the United States Supreme Court. He is an active member of state and local bar associations and former president of the Plano Bar Association. In 2006, he was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to the Texas Board of Examiners for Marital & Family Therapists where he serves as chairman of its Rules Committee. He has been the Texas state delegate to the American Association of Marital and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards and the National Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation since 2006.
Michael has long been active in education and served six years as a board trustee for the McKinney Independent School District and on the board of the McKinney Economic Development Corporation. He also currently serves as a board member of the McKinney Community Development Corporation. He has been selected as a fellow on the Texas Family Law Foundation and on the Collin County Bench/Bar Foundation, and in 2000 was accepted as a life member of the National Registry of Who's Who.
